“Porsha Williams Scores $40K Alimony in Divorce Showdown”

Following a protracted divorce battle, reality TV star Porsha Williams of The Real Housewives of Atlanta has reportedly been granted a sizeable $40,000 monthly alimony from her ex-husband, entrepreneur, and businessman, Simon Guobadia.

The ex-couple signed a prenuptial agreement before their nuptial knot in November 2022. As per US Weekly, on June 11, a judge threw her weight behind Williams to enforce the prenup, meaning Guobadia will have to fork out “a substantial financial obligation amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars” to the reality TV star, post their official separation.

The duo’s prenup also mandates Guobadia to split the equity of his $7,000,000 pre-marital house with Williams and bear “significant debts and expenses” linked to the property.

However, Guobadia contested the court’s decision, arguing that Williams breached the agreement when she rejoined The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Williams, who had a 10-year stint with the hit show spanning nine seasons, quit it in September 2021 before making a return to it in 2024.

Guobadia’s counterclaim states that “[Williams] failed to disclose that she would return to her employment on the reality TV show, and instead made it publicly clear that she was exiting the show and would not return. [Guobadia] relied on the representations — or misrepresentations — that [Williams] made to him during their engagement, the negotiation phase, and at the time that the parties signed the Prenuptial Agreement.”

Guobadia further claimed that had he known Williams going to mislead him about leaving #RHOA, he would never have agreed to the specifics of the prenup. Unfortunately for him, the judge didn’t buy his argument and chose to rule in Williams’ favor.

Now, Guobadia is on the hook to shell out a whopping $40,000 each month to Williams as alimony – this information comes from a source who broke the news to The Breakfast Club’s Loren LoRosa on June 12.

According to LoRosa, Williams will receive these tidy sums from Guobadia for the next 14-15 months, along with full coverage of her legal fees. She also gets to keep the Rolls-Royce – a high-end luxury car valued over $300,000 – that Guobadia gifted her in 2022.

With respect to their $7 million marital home, Williams has up until 2027 to decide whether she wants to retain or sell it. Since Guobadia owns 50 percent of the home’s equity, if Porsha chooses to stick around, he will have to refinance and buy out his share. In the event of a sale, both parties would have to agree. Meanwhile, Guobadia will be responsible for all associated costs, including the mortgage.

And if you think that’s the end of it, there’s more. Guobadia is contemplating an appeal and has 30 days to file it with the court, LoRosa noted.

Giving an insider’s account, she revealed that, despite the Zoom-mediated court hearing on June 11 – a necessity given Guobadia’s recent deportation situation – lasting an exhausting 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with no direct interaction between Williams and Guobadia, the latter reportedly “walked away pissed.”

It isn’t hard to infer why the ruling was conducted over Zoom – Guobadia was in the clutches of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) deportation efforts at Georgia’s Stewart Detention Center, over two hours outside Atlanta. Earlier this month, the CEO of SIMCOL Petroleum Limited Company was released and deported to Nigeria, his home country.

Interestingly, Guobadia had been hoping to have a chat with President Donald Trump, in the hope that there was something the latter could do for him, as per the businessman’s friend Tai Savet. For Guobadia, that seems like a distant dream now, as he prepares for his first post-ICE interview hosted by Will Smith’s ex-wife, Sheree Zampiano.

If the current proceedings are anything to go by, it doesn’t seem like Guobadia will be coming out of this divorce battle unscathed, let alone victorious. What’s your take?
