According to our well-respected confidante, NBC News, a baker’s dozen worth of cities have transformed their streets into a rousing chorus of protest, a veritable hit parade of woke warriors. We’re talking Atlanta, New York, Dallas, Boston, San Diego, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, Baltimore, Memphis, and Philadelphia. Many of these voices, hot as molasses, ironically it seems, are being ignored in middle-America’s decidedly chill atmosphere! Per usual, nobody’s home in Oklahoma City.
Segue to the heart of counter-cultural rebellion and cat claw-ready resistance, Los Angeles. The City of Angels has become the city of angles, as numerous mandarins from across the county comb up their political hairstyle and take a stand against Trump’s circus shenanigans.
A striking voice in this cacophony of authority figures is the Vice Mayor of Paramount, California, Brenda Olmos. Her plea to President Trump was clear as a diamond – “Stop terrorizing our residents”; A sentence as powerful as any political sonnet. Olmos, it seems, took a baptism of fire, having copped a shower of rubber bullets last weekend. Yikes!
Our moment of drama doesn’t stop there. LA Mayor Karen Bass, has poured a heavy mix of curfew by 8 pm, and caution where it was needed. Why? Keep up, y’all, it’s due to the high voltage drama unfolding between the residents and Trump’s play soldiers.
“If there are soldiers marching up, and down our streets,” warns Mayor Bass, “I would imagine that the curfew will continue.” Talk about keeping the tea hot, right?
We can’t forget the fresh note that came from AP News— since Saturday, June 7, the hard-nosed LAPD has scooped up a massive haul of around 400 arrests – the majority being folks refusing to scamper from police-requested zones. Contrary to what the MAGA-tune might be crooning, most of the pinch was for refusing to comply, rather than any violent miscreancy.
